About me

Prekchhya Shrestha is working as the Program Manager at Karkhana Samuha, where she leads initiatives that advance girls’ education, cultivate a culture of playful and lifelong learning, and create engaging classroom experiences. She designs and manages programs that help children and young people learn through exploration, creation and meaningful engagement with their communities. Working closely with municipalities, schools, teachers and youth, she focuses on building inclusive learning environments that offer joyful, accessible and transformative educational experiences.

She holds a Master’s degree in International Social Development from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom, as a Chevening Scholar, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. With over five years of experience in project and team management, she has contributed to programs across education, gender equity and youth leadership. She is also the co-founder of Katha.akar – Shaping Stories, a digital storytelling initiative for girls, and an alumna and former board member of Women Lead Nepal.These experiences have deepened her commitment to amplifying girls’ voices and creating safe, empowering spaces for them to grow.

Prekchhya enjoys creative pursuits such as art, storytelling and exploring ideas that bring people together. She values connection, imagination and curiosity, and carries these qualities into everything she does.
